Pregnancy wt gain: Surprisingly, if you are underweight when you get pregnant you are encouraged to gain more weight during your pregnancy. Women with a BMI of under 18.5 are encouraged to gain between 13-18kg. Women with a normal BMI of 18.5-24.9 are encouraged to gain between 11-16kg and women with a BMI over 25 are encouraged to gain only 7-9kg. Watch your salt intake, and total calories if you are concerned.
