Mandible: The mandible is actually suspended with muscles and ligaments to the skull. it adapts to the new position of the upper jaw. Following upper jaw surgery, the lower jaw will also change position - auto rotate

Response: If just upper jaw surgery done, lower jaw will rotate automatically in response to new upper jaw position. Please ask your Orthodontist AND your Oral Surgeon to describe post-surgical expectations.
