Does correcting bow legs by surgery increases or decreases height? does it differ if its an opening wedge or closing wedge high tibial osteotomy?

In theory, it may aid some height. Taking a curved line to a straight line makes it increase in height. An opening wedge may add more than a closing wedge, but the overall height increase may be minimal.
