Reflux: Besides avoiding things that decrease the function of the lower esophageal sphincter such as coffee, alcohol, chocolate i know of no natural remedies. If you are having severe reflux not controlled by ppi's surgery may be a great option and a potentially cancer preventing procedure.

Yes to replace PPI's: I know of no way to "fix" the les besides surgery, but this is a common problem that seldom requires surgery. Long-term ppi use is dangerous. Avoiding certain foods (caffeine, alcohol, fried foods etc.) & not laying down til stomach empties helps. There are many helpful herbs/home remedies- see www.Earthclinic.Com/cures/acid_reflux.Html triphala (ayurvedic fruits) can also help. Good luck!
