Abscessed tooth: OUCH. Can try oragel or other topical OTC dental pain remedy. Can use OTC pain reliever at well. Ice to affected area 20-30 min on then 20-30 min off. Not much else I am afraid. Hope this helps. Best of luck with this.

Antibiotics : Get your dentist to prescribe an antibiotic and take OTC pain relievers such as Advil, Alleve, or Tylenol (acetaminophen). It takes 34-48 hrs for the antibiotic to show decreased pain and swelling.
