Is it normal for a doc to not prescribe antibiotics after a surgical abortion? they said if i didn't get it, i didn't need it. how would they know?

A surgical: as opposed to another form of mechanically induced termination is a sterile procedure not normally associated with introduction of significant amounts or bacteria of a volume that would overwhelm a normal individual's immune system. Just like antibiotics aren't routinely given after repairing a simple laceration unless horribly contaminated or containing difficult to find and remove foreign bodie

D&C: Usually for sake of prophylaxis (to prevent infection) the studies showed the pre-operative Antibiotics is more effective than post-procedure Antibiotics treatment, therefore Antibiotics not recommended in USA (in legal setting).
