Addiction chance from 10-20 10mg/325 hydrocodone a month? don't want to take left over from surgery without asking doc; but i'm afraid to ask him to prescribe it. it helps my ulcerative colitis pains. if i took it on very bad days 9-10 days a month

In theory: You should not develop an addiction to hydrocodone by taking 10-20 a month. Due to the short half-life of the medication, tolerance to the drug will not build if you are taking less than one pill a day. That said, any use of narcotics in a 24 yo should be for short-term use only. There are other non-narcotic medications to control ulcerative colitis, saving narcotics for second-line Rx.
