Gilbert's disease: This condition is not inherited. It is a benign condition related to liver enzymes. When you test bilirubin fasting it is elevated when you test it nonfasting it is not elevated. Sometimes insurance is denied inappropriately for this condition but when you explain that all other liver functions and enzymes are normal. They usually grant insurance. It is nothing to worry about.
