Short time: It is important to have the bleeding in the extraction site stop before eating or drinking. Apply even pressure with sterile gauze the dental surgeon gave you and after about an hour or two you'll be able t eat and drink. Just stay away from the extraction site with hard foods and make sure to follow all the post treatment instructions.

Once bleeding stops: Eating dairy products does not have any negative effects on an extraction site. Bite on the gauze for about 45 minutes. After that you can drink and eat soft foods. Eat softer foods for first 1-2 days, Avoid spicy foods and very hot foods. Avoid acidy and carbonated beverages.

No restriction: After a bleeding stops, you can have an ice cream, yogurt and milk shakes. Consuming dairy products and/or soy milk is recommended. Take care.
