Depends: Its hard to say because I don't know if your doc is talking about the ductus arteriosis or opening in the heart. I would ask for clarification. Gap isn't really a term used regarding the heart. Some heart issues have to be addressed after birth with an echocardiogram, but a fetal echo can be done also. Ask if that is needed and again clarify what was seen and re ask your question
