He went to the er for chest pains and was told he had inflammation around his heart and lungs. they said tylenol would help but he needs to see a heart specialist. is there any other ways to help with the chest pains until he goes to a specialist?

Doctor can help: His doctor can help with recommendations on that. Usually, the anti-inflammatory medication is ibuprofen or aspirin, or something similar to that, rather than Tylenol. However, pericarditis (inflammation of the lining around the heart) can range from mild to very serious. Hopefully, he is not waiting long. Echo and Cardiology: Please see Cardiology as soon as possible, and try Motrin instead of Tylenol for pain. Please see the Emergency department for worsening, shortness of breath or nausea associated with the chest pain.
