Unaswerable: Without knowing what is in the middle ear fluid, it is impossible to answer your question. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is an adequate antibiotic, but if you are not allergic to penicillin, Augmentin is the drug of choice. If the cause of the fluid in the middle ear is the result of a virus, no antibiotic will help. Your question is unanswerable because we do not know if there is a bacteria in the middle ear.

Antibiotic: You don't say what you are being treated for, what the causative organism is, whether it is sensitive to the antibiotics that have been prescribed, etc. Cannot possibly answer your question without more data.
