Best guided by exam: It is not unusual for fluid to persist in the middle ear space for a month after an infection. That fluid will diminish hearing and may provide other symptoms.Any further treatment is best guided by exam to decide whether this is recurrent bacterial infection or just fluid. It sounds like you have been treated for both a middle ear infection and a canal infection. Not a common event.

Need to define: "Ear infection"???? Do you have EXTRENAL otitis which is red, itchy, irritated, swollen, weepy? Then you may be allergic to an antibiotic in the ear drops. Do you really have an infection or do you have something else? Do you have a congested inner ear? Sounds like you need a better Dr. Submit your question with indications of pain, fever, itch, inner or outer ear symptoms.
