Reassurance: At 2 months of age, your baby hasn't developed the ability to sooth herself back to sleep yet when she awakens. By picking her up, you are reassuring her everything is okay. Over the next several months, she will develop the ability to calm herself and go back to sleep on her own. If she is not consoled when she cries, look for other reasons (fever, infection, injury, etc).
