A member asked:

I had a ct done that showed a low-density lesion upper pole and lower pole on right kidney. likely a cyst. what does that mean? what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cysts in the kidney: All of us will develop benign cysts in the kidneys with age. 2 cysts are of no concern. They may cause microscopic blood in the urine otherwise harmless. We usually repeat the Ultrasound annually for 2 years and if there's not much change in the size, number, and look (or complexity) of the cysts, then we repeat ultrasound every 2 years, that's all you need to do!
