Good question: Effexor (venlafaxine) is said to work on Borth Serotonin and Nor-epinephrine, while Zoloft only works on Serotonin, so many people do take both for that reason. In theory, Effexor (venlafaxine) alone should be fine, but everyone is different and some do better on one than another for some reason. Hope that helps. Only your Dr. can comment on dosing.
