I was on zoloft 100mg for many years, helped with depression. currently on 75mg of effexor, (venlafaxine) helping with anxiety. can i take them both together at lower dose to help with both anxiety and depression?

Find a psychiatrist who really knows psychopharmacology to work with. Possibly more Effexor (venlafaxine) without Zoloft may do the trick...

Good question: Effexor (venlafaxine) is said to work on Borth Serotonin and Nor-epinephrine, while Zoloft only works on Serotonin, so many people do take both for that reason. In theory, Effexor (venlafaxine) alone should be fine, but everyone is different and some do better on one than another for some reason. Hope that helps. Only your Dr. can comment on dosing.
