Tooth eruption: Primary (baby teeth) are almost always replaced with permanent teeth. However, sometimes the permanent tooth is either congenitally missing or developing at an angle that prevents it from erupting into its proper place in the mouth. Only through dental x-rays can one know what will happen in your particular case.

Can't tell: To answer question you will have to be examined and probably x-rayed by a Dentist. If there is no permanent successor, teeth on either side of gap and in opposing arch will collapse into the space, a disaster in the making. Please see the best Dentist you can find...now.
