High protein/low fa: I would recommend a high protein and low fat diet to build lean muscle. You should have some form of protein at every meal, 3 meals/day, with healthy snacks in between. I also would recommend lower weight with more repetitions for lean muscle. "Maxing" out your weight will increase muscle bulk. Hope this helps!
