Im a 46m, ultrasound "there is a subtle and vague hypoechoic area, 1.5 cm w/out internal vascularity in the right hepatic lobe of liver". otherwise unremarkable. does this sound benign? waiting on mri

Probably normal: Hi there Most of these incidental findings in the liver are benign but they still need to be investigated. A common reason for the finding you described is a vascular/blood vessel finding. usually nothing to do surgery for

Not yet : It sounds like you have a great doctor who is Falloeing thru on an abnormality . I would wait for the result of the MRI and consider your ulternate bed afterwords . Which may include do nothing or a GI consultation . Enjoy the Holiday weekend .

Too soon to tell: Ultrasound is a good screening test when pain in right upper abdomen or abnormal labs are found. It is not very specific for the incidental finding.MRI or CT can help your doctor decide if it is worrisome enough to pursue a biopsy.
