Why can you be allergic to penicillin orally but be okay to use it in drops for eyes?

Not true: First off penicillin is not available in any drop form for prescription use. There are many reasons for this but there are so many more effective alternatives that it is not made as a drop. If you are allergic to penicillin, then if you administered it into your eyes you would get an allergic reaction.
