Good question: Good question. I would suggest you see an ophthalmologist for good slit lamp exam. The redness could be several things, eg.allergy to medications, hay fever allergy, conjunctivitis and other items to be ruled out. Good luck

Red Itchy Eyes: Strep infection (in throat) would gen not cause simultaneous eye infection, unless direct inoculation from infected site took place. Redness in eyes during treatment can be from other minor causes such as developing a separate eye infection, which is gen viral, allergy to pollen or medicine.
