Viral Cause?: Most pink eye is due to a virus. Recommend warm soaks to keep the lids and lashes free of debris. Frequent hand washing. Eye discomfort may persist for up to 10 days. The eye should be considered infections while excessive eye watering continues. The child may need to get some eyedrops from your physician. Followup if symptoms worsen.

Viral: Most likely pink eye is from virus, which is not affected by an antibiotic. It will usually run its course 7-10 days on its own. If its still not improved after 2wks, have the child see an ophthalmologist.

Viral combo!: The combination of an ear infection and conjunctivitis usually indicates a viral infection and will not respond to antibiotics.
