Redness with both: Pink eye is a viral conjunctivitis which causes a generalized reddening of the eye. It usually starts in one eye and spreads to both. With a blocked tear duct there is yellowish matter in the nasal corner of the eye which may run down the cheek. Gently pushing on the inner corner of the lower eyelid would express more of the matter.
