A member asked:

Can you become addicted to bread ? i am slim, however recently i have found myself eating bread upon bread, how can i stop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is not addiction: in the usual sense. I see that you have iron deficiency, and that is often associated with various kinds of "pica." which is eating things that aren't food - dirt, clay, ice etc. Have not heard of carbohydrate craving as part of this. I would talk to your doctor about this. Food cravings can occur because of unmet psychological needs, and your doctor may want to refer you to a counselor.
