Depends on age: A stuffy nose has 2 main causes: swelling, or foreign body blockage. The latter is usually only 1 side and in younger kids and should be checked out asap. Swelling can be from allergies, viruses, bacteria, and excessive suctioning and dryness. The best treatment for all of these is a good salt water (saline) nose rinse, such as a neti pot. If >6yrs old, can try decongestant spray for 2-3days.
