Varies...: Is a question about how long AFTER root canal treatment you should expect the pain? Pain duration after root canal therapy varies greatly. Many patients get quickly comfortable and start healing while others experience a long, achy feeling for weeks or months. If the infection is deep into the bone, it is not uncommon to take nearly a year before you feel back to normal. Ask your RC doctor.

A few days only: It is normal to feel some tenderness in the area for a few days after your root and usually OTC painkillers are very helpful. If you have severe pain or pressure that lasts more than a few days, contact your dentist for follow up visit.
