I had a crown done four weeks ago. why does itstill hurt when i bite solid foods? my dentist has adjusted it 4 times and evaluated it for root canal.

Inflammation: Apparently the tooth is still slightly inflamed. If the bite is good, and the tooth does not need root canal therapy, then you'll have to be patient... It may take a bit longer to feel just right. You've put a specific time limit on the healing process and the tooth is not cooperating.
