Shoulder blade?: If the pain is between the shoulder blades it is often a muscle spasm. Medications and chiropractic therapy is very effective. It is rare to have any kind of herniated disc or pinched nerve in this area. If the pain worsens when you breath, if you have a cough or fever, then it could indicate a problem inside the lung
