Not true: Dental braces are used to properly align your teeth. Brushing your teeth at least 2x a day and avoiding ingestion of very sweet sugary food and/or beverages will make your teeth last a very long time.

Rare: This is not generally true. However long term complications can occur if the orthodontic work has caused shortening of the roots or the teeth are pushed too far out of the ideal bone housing. If your orthodontic work is done by an expert you should have no trouble.

Orthodontics: That has no effect on losing your teeth when you are older unless you have periodontal disease and you put braces on your teeth. Of course orthodontists don't put braces on teeth with periodontal (gum) disease because it is malpractice.
