I get mouth ulcers during exams.the doctor says its stress related.it gets very painful and the gels i apply don't really work much.what do i do?

Apthous ulcers ideas: These ulcers can be really painful. You can suck on zinc lozenges, or chewing deglycyrrhizinated (dgl) licorice tablets may help your mouth lining heal. You can avoid toothpaste with sodium lauryl sulphate in it, since this may make recurrence more likely. Slippery elm lozenges may help also. Take a b-100 b complex vitamin daily.

Mouth ulcers: Probably aphthous ulcers brought on by stress activating the virus that lives along your nerve trunks. See your Dentist when ulcers are active (visible) for examination > diagnosis > appropriate treatment. You may be helped by steroids, laser Rx, or palliate OTC compounds.
