My 24-year-old sister has a 25-day-old boy baby and she has blocked milk duct breastfeeding. the doctor prescribed choline salicylate and lignocaine hydrochloride gel ( gel for mouth ulcers). may i know the use of this medicine in blocked milk ducts?

Salicylate and caine medications may be used more to reduce pain rather than to open a blocked nipple. Warm compressed and gentle compression of the areola prior to nursing (when breast milk is filling the breast) may allow for opening of the duct.
