Acyclovir: If you can start the anti viral, acyclovir, before exams or other stressful situations, you can decrease the number and severity of these ulcers. Also at the first sign of them occurring, you can have the lesions treated with cold laser therapy.

Table Salt: I used to have the same problem. The sores will not go away for a long time. Until i used salt on them 3 times that day. They went away the next day. Also as prevention take vit. B complex and l-lysine supplements.

Mouth ulcers: If you're talking about herpetic ulcers, my colleagues' suggestions of Acyclovir and lysine may be helpful. For apthous ulcers (aka canker sores), swishing with salt water may help -- also chewing dgl tablets, and sucking slippery elm lozenges can help your mouth lining heal. B complex vitamins help, and avoiding toothpaste with sodium lauryl sulphate (a foaming agent commonly found).
