Not likely: The renal collecting systems collect the urine made by the kidneys. Urine then travels through the ureters to the bladder. If the collecting systems become dilated, it can mean there is something blocking the pathway (e.g., kidney stone, mass, scarring). There is a range of normal and even mild dilatation can be ok. Blood tests can also be used to ensure normal kidney function.

Wrong question: A pelvic CT scan generally does not include kidneys in the images. Ultrasound does not show retroperitoneal structures adequately. Is your question the other way around? US showed mild dilatation of collecting systems and CT did not show retroperitoneal pathology? Is this person a child or an adult?
