My total serum iga was 172( in range) in 2012. it has now dropped to 42(lower than normal range). what would cause such a substantial drop?

Unimportant: If that's the only thing in the immunglobulin panel that's abnormal, there is nothing to be concerned over at this time if you are otherwise healthy.
