?necessary for what?: Fever, if it occurs is a normal stress response & allows babies system to adjust to the increased metabolic demands of the vaccine. Increased blood flow caused by a mild fever lets baby move into high gear & accept & adjust to the stress.If baby maintains a normal feeding pattern they are fine to be left alone. If you must, use Acetaminophen but only if baby is awake.
