A member asked:

When i have severe acid reflux, my prescription pain meds do not work. can excessive acid cause certain meds to be less potent?

Antacids: Prescription antacids may not always work. Also, many prescription antacids don't work well as an, 'as needed' medication since they can take many hours before they start to work. If you are on daily omeprazole, watching your eating habits, but are still getting severe reflux then see your doctor or gastroenterologist.
