Yes if is...ppi!: Long term use of proton pump inhibitors can cause B12 loss, mg loss, osteoporosis, and pancreatic insufficiency when used long term. H2 blockers do not have these issues, but are less potent. I do not know what you are taking. The problem with these drugs is they cause gastrin to be secreted which hypertrophies acid producing cells, so you produce more acid coming off. They need weaning slowly!
