Normal reflex: A hoffmann's reflex can be present in an entirely normal patient and in normal patients is more commonly found in those who are naturally hyper-reflexive, which is normal. It may be found in people with arthritis-related changes in the spine vertebrae. If there is spine compression, then red flag symptoms to watch for and see a neurologist include weakness and loss of bowel/bladder control.
