The diagnosis is based on history, physical exam, and absence of studies confirmatory for other diagnoses. In truth, the diagnosis of FM is as much artistry as science. I believe that Osteopaths are the best specialists to sort out the musculoskeletal abnormalities causal of fibromyalgia.
