Take what is Rx'd: Obviously your details are limited. If you are diabetic, or otherwise have Insulin resistance and are taking a steroid, your blood sugars will typically go up. If your doctor has prescribed metformin to address this, then by all means take it. If you have not been prescribed or otherwise instructed to take metformin, then talk to your doctor before doing so.
