Low glycemic impact : I would suggest a low glycemic impact diet. For simplicity sake avoid sugar, sweets and "white things"- (flour, rice, bread, etc). Make sure you are getting 30-60 minutes of exercise daily. A great book to read is "the blood sugar solution", by dr hyman.
