Depression & CABG: It is common for patient to feel sad or depressed after cardiac surgery. These emotions may be the result of uncertainty what to expect. When a depressed mood is severe and accompanied by other symptoms (e.g. weight loss) and persist daily for 2 weeks, depression treatment is necessary. Ask your surgeon for the referral.
