Heartburn: Commonly known as heartburn, acid reflux can cause burning in the esophagus and a sour tasted in the back of the throat. If left untreated it can cause scarring of the esophagus.

Besides heartburn...: People sometimes have no pain, but may have a cough or worsening of asthma. Also, hoarseness can be from reflux.
