Airway management: During elective or routine surgery management of your airway is very important. Patients with acid reflux tend to aspirate (stomach acid rises up into back of throat and mouth) which can end up in the lungs, or aspiration. Tell your doc and your anesthesia provider if you have acid reflux before your surgery.
