What are the symptoms for acid reflux in infants, how is it diagnosed and how is it treated?

Spit up: Most often it's characterized by constant spit up. That is, not soon after feeding the infant will spit up. My son had this. We added some formula to breast milk in order to thicken his milk a little. It helped to a degree, but honestly it was something that he had to grow out there are drops they can take as well, but i would consult a pediatrician before i started him/her on any medication.

Symptoms vary: Infants normally spit up some following ingestion of liquids. Severity of reflux is judged by volume, frequency and weight gain. Symptoms include frequent spitting up, irritability, refusal to eat, and lack of normal weight gain. If reflux or vomiting several hours after meal, means also slow gastric emptying.Antireflux meds may not help. Ugi, nm gastric emptying, ph probe tests may be used to dx.
