Speak to DDS: You should have a one on one discussion with the dentist who will be removing your wisdom teeth. This reduces any concerns. You will be completely numb and not feel anything. Iv sedation (or nitrous oxide\oxygen analgesia) may or may not be used in addition to local anesthesia. Afterwards you will be given instructions and pain medication, if necessary, to keep you comfortable.

Very common: However, the extraction of wisdom teeth involves a surgical procedure that is far from a simple tooth extraction. Many patients require the treatment by an oral surgeon. The key to successful and uneventful recovery from wisdom teeth surgery is appropriate anesthesia and finding the right dentist/surgeon.
