Perio procedure: Your question is best answered by the surgeon who can actually examine you, knowing your medical and dental history, the specifics of the area and the procedure. Some individuals have thick tough wide gingiva while others have thin fragile tissue.

Still fragile: Gingiva is always fragile post surgery, especially in the healing phase. I would be very careful manipulating the tissue for at least 3-4 months to ensure full maturation at the surgical site.
