Periodontist/Surgeon: I assume you are seeing a gum/bone specialist, a periodontist, or a surgical specialist, an oral surgeon. With specialty residency training and years of experience there's a good reason why the specialist has chosen this treatment for you rather than an alternative treatment. Ask the specialist "why.".

Surgical : The pinhole surgical technique is a new method to correct gum recession but using a smaller incision and special instruments. Promising. Few are skilled in technique. The modified traditional technique is a proven method with good results and minor discomfort.

Variation: The "pinhole gum rejuvenation technique" is merely a variation of proven gum grafting techniques ; promoted as "unique". Personally i strongly believe the knowledge, experience and skill of the periodontist is much more important than the specific technique. I would opt for a master carpenter with the oldest tools rather than a newbie with the most up to date ; sophisticated tools to do work 4 me.
