Vitamin D: Yes. Of course. Doses up to 10, 000 units per day are safe.

Ask dr. to clarify: The dosing is not the issue, but the treatment is as vitamin d is usually used for supplementation, and not to treat anxiety or stress. Best to call your doctor and ask for clarification, so that s/he and you are both clear why you are using it. There is no proper dose for treating stress/ anxiety using vitamin d3. Make sure you know what your vitamin d3 level is. That may really be the reason.

I think so: Vitamin d level is easy to measure and the results could guide your doctor in determining what dose you need. 4, 000 u maybe an overkill but really doubt hyper-vitaminosis d at this dose. You have to weight your options and decide.
