Will breast cancer show up on an xray?

Yes, but: It may very well on a mammogram, mri, ct, pet or ultrasound. Not likely on a plain chest x-ray unless it has metastasized to the lungs or bones.

Maybe: A mammogram is a special xray of your breasts and is very good at finding breast cancers. Screening mammography is recommended for women over 40 years old. see below Other xrays such as a chest xray do not detect breast cancers. http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=screening-breast
